And another year begins!
Is it time for reflecting on old dreams, making resolutions for new ones? Out with the old, in with the new and all that good stuff?
Nope. This year, I don't feel the need to do any of that. All I feel is peace. A comforting peace that a new year is here. One that feels good. Feels right.
Maybe it's because Christmas 2010 was so peaceful. Comforting in old rituals, yet lots of fun with new and different things. And sitting back watching the next generation follow family traditions that go way back, while adding wonderful new traditions that seal the bonds of their own families. So great to be a part of that. Kinda like a pat on the shoulder and a hearty well done, Mom & Dad, because you just know they're all going to be okay. No matter the economy, or the looming "end of the world as we know it", no matter what craziness is going on out in the world, here within our family, everything and everyone is okay. There's love overflowing. Not the "just cuz it's the holidays" kind of love, but the deep down, forever and ever love that holds us all together. No matter what. Is there anything more affirming for a mom? A grandmother? Nope! All is well with my world. Any other goodies coming my way will be icing on the cupcake!
My wish for you is that your 2011 will be as new and shiny in December as it is right now. And may you always feel that deep in the heart peace that comes from love.
Until next time...
